Global Location Number (GLN)



The Global Location Number (GLN) is a unique 13-digit number that uses to identify locations and parties in the supply chain. It gives full flexibility to identify any type or level of location needed. Examples include warehouses, shops, offices, or even digital locations.

To apply GLN, please submit the following documents:

  1. The applicant must be legally registered in Macao and provide the document(s) below:
    1. Business Tax – Form M/1, or other business license(s);
    1. Business Tax – Form M/8; (*if applicable)
    1. Registry Information of the Company. (*if applicable)
  2. Complete the Application form below, and submit together with the above mentioned document(s) via e-mail at: gs1macau@cpttm.org.mo.

Fee and Process:

  • If the applicant is an active member of GS1 Macao, China (holds a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) membership), the GLN entry fee and annual fee are waived. The first GLN is free of charge; each subsequent GLN application will incur a fee of MOP 200.
  • If the applicant applies solely for GLN membership, an entry fee of MOP 1,000 and an annual GLN fee of MOP 800 are required. The first GLN is free; each additional GLN application will cost MOP 200.
  • The registration process will be completed within 5 working days after the payment is received.
  • If the applicant applies solely for GLN membership, the fees paid do not include authorization to use Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN).

Important Notes:

  1. Member who fails to pay the annual fee before the payment due date, the membership will be automatically expired and be terminated without prior notice.
  2. Any member who wishes to rejoin the association after expiry or termination of its membership will be considered as a new member and therefore, will be required to pay entry fee and annual fee again.
